We’ve also added a Tuesday daytime class during half-term at the end of May 2018. Aimed mainly at teenage school children (although younger children are welcome if they are very enthusiastic bike riders who can benefit from learning these skills), adults are also welcome.

Book a place for your child and one parent can also come along FREE!

You will not need your own bike, although you are welcome to ride to the Community Centre. You will need a lock to secure your bike outside but it will be visible from the room in which we will be holding the class.

Product Description

Despite what many people think, most bike maintenance tasks are really quite simple. There are only a few basics to know.

The West Malling Cycles basic maintemance course covers everything we think you should know about keeping your bike in tip-top condition as well as resolving any issues you might encounter during a ride.

We’ll show you a simple safety check – it only takes a few seconds – which you should make on your bike every time you ride, and show you how to make simple adjustments if you find any problems. You’ll also get hands-on experience of removing and replacing bike wheels and everyone gets a go at removing and replacing an inner tube as we show you the easiest way to remove even the most stubborn tyre from a bike wheel!
